Xpeng Enters German Market, UK, Italy And France Next

Chinese electric carmaker Xpeng, backed by Volkswagen, is expanding into its fifth European market after Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark. On Thursday, it announced plans to commence sales in Germany this May, starting with the G9 SUV and P7 sedan. Xpeng aims to secure a 3% market share for new energy vehicles by the end of this year.When sales of the two models begin, Xpeng will be operating in 24 locations.

It aims to expand its presence to 120 retail locations in Germany by 2026. Additionally, the Chinese company is preparing to launch in France, Italy, and the UK, with hopes to enter each of these markets by the end of the year.Read: Xpeng Spending Almost $500 Million This Year On Its Intelligent CarsThree versions of the G9 and P7 will be sold in Germany. Starting with the SUV, it will be offered in RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range, and AWD Long Range variants, priced from €57,600 (~$62,100), €62,300 (~$67,100), and €69,600 (~$75,000) respectively.The entry-level model features a 78.2 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor producing 308 hp (230 kW).

The mid-range model shares the same motor but is equipped with a larger 98 kWh pack. Xpeng’s G9 AWD Long Range combines the 98 kWh pack with two motors generating 543 hp (405 kW), enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds.The P7 sedan, being smaller than the G9, comes with a slightly lower price tag. It will be available in RWD Long Range configuration starting from €49,600 ($53,400), equipped with an 82.7 kWh pack and 276 hp.

Additionally, there will be an AWD Performance variant featuring the same 82.7 kWh pack, but boasting 473 hp and starting at €58,600 ($63,100).
