Tata Nexon Gets 5 New Lower-end AMT Variants, Automatic Option Now Starts From Rs 10 Lakh

The Tata Nexon is one of the most popular nameplates in the Indian car market, and it only continues to soar in popularity. Well, this time there is one more thing that has increased, and it's the number of variants offered with the AMT gearbox, making the automatic option more accessible. The Petrol AMT Nexon gets Smart +, Pure and Pure S as the new entry-level AMT variants, while the Diesel AMT gets the Pure and Pure S. Earlier, the Nexon AMT was offered only from the mid-spec Creative trim onwards.

Pricing

The newly launched entry-level ‘Smart +’ petrol-AMT variant is priced at Rs 10 lakh, thus undercutting the Creative variant by Rs 1.8 lakh. The entry-level ‘Pure’ diesel-AMT trim, which is offered at Rs 11.80 lakh, undercuts the Creative trim by approximately Rs 1.2 lakh.

The Nexon gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which makes 120PS and 170Nm. Meanwhile, the diesel comes with the 1.5-litre diesel engine making 115PS and 260Nm. The AMT gearbox in question is a 6-speed unit, while the petrol and diesel engines are also offered with a 5-speed manual (limited to base petrol) and a 6-speed manual gearbox, and you also get the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with the higher variants of the Petrol Nexon.
