Suzuki Motorcycle India today launched the much-awaited Suzuki V-Strom 800DE at an introductory starting price of Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is being offered in three colour options — Champion Yellow, Glass Matte Mechanical Grey and Glass Sparkle Black.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE employs a 776cc parallel-twin DOHC engine, which has a 270-degree crankshaft. The motorcycle has the patented Suzuki Cross Balancer system for suppressing vibration for a smooth operation. Also, there is liquid-cooling system, a 2-into-1 exhaust system with dual-stage catalytic converter, and Suzuki clutch assist system.

Based on a highly rigid new steel frame, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE gets Hitachi Astemo (Showa) inverted front forks with 220mm wheel travel and Hitachi Astemo (Showa) monoshock rear suspension with adjustable spring preload. With a 220mm ground clearance, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is the tallest among all V-Strom models. The front has 310mm dual disc brakes. There are wire-spoked and semi blocked patterned 21-inch front and 17-inch rear Dunlop wheels.

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE features the iconic V-Strom 'beak', which is positioned higher than before. There is a custom 5-inch coloured TFT LCD multi-information screen with night and day modes accompanied by a USB port on the left side of the cluster. There are vertically stacked pair of hexagonal LED headlights, LED position lighting, LED taillight and LED turn signals. The motorcycle has a 20-litre fuel tank.

The V-Strom 800DE is equipped with Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S), including Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Suzuki Traction Control System (STSC) with the introductory G (Gravel) mode, ride-by-wire electronic throttle system, bi-directional quick shift system (with on/off settings), two-mode ABS, Suzuki Easy Start System, and low RPM assist.
