Toyota BZ3X e-SUV revealed at Beijing motor show
Toyota has unveiled a new electric SUV, dubbed the bZ3X, at the Beijing motor show. A blocky five-seater developed in collaboration with Toyota’s Chinese joint venture partner, GAC, the bZ3X said to prioritise interior space and comfort. The bZ3X was unveiled at Beijing alongside the bZ3C, a fastback version of the sedan of the same name.
India-bound Volkswagen Tayron debuts at Beijing motor show
The all-new Volkswagen Tayron SUV has been officially revealed at the ongoing Beijing motor show 2024. China is the first market where this SUV will go on sale, and it will arrive in India sometime in 2025. Do note that the China-spec model is called the Tiguan L Pro and comes in a five-seater configuration. Some markets will also get a seven-seat iteration and will use the Tayron nameplate, although it is essentially a stretched version of the five-seater Tiguan revealed in September last year.
BMW i4 facelift revealed
The BMW i4 has become the latest model in the German brand’s international line-up to receive a wide-reaching refresh. The i4 was the best-selling electric BMW worldwide last year; with more than 83,000 sales, the i4 M50 xDrive cemented its position as the best-selling M model in both 2022 and 2023.
Ford Ranger India sightings spark launch speculations
The news of Ford’s possible return to India has already garnered a fair amount of interest among loyalists. This is the second time that the pickup has been sighted in the country, with the first being spotted in Chennai.
Hardcore Land Rover Defender Octa global debut on July 3
As JLR prepares for the debut of its first electric Range Rover, it is also gearing up to reveal the most extreme V8-powered 4x4 it has yet produced. The Defender Octa will be revealed on July 3 as a highly exclusive and extremely capable super-off-roader, which is set to use the twin-turbocharged, mild-hybrid 4.4-litre V8 from BMW, as deployed in the X5 M and X6 M SUVs.
BMW i5 launched at Rs 1.20 crore
BMW India has launched the i5 in the country, priced at Rs 1.20 crore, ex-showroom, India. The i5 has been brought to India via the CBU route, and only in top-spec M60 xDrive form. The electric sedan slots between the i4 (Rs 72.5 lakh) and i7 (Rs 2.03 crore-2.5 crore) in BMW India's line-up. With the launch of the i5, BMW has five EVs on sale in India, including the iX1, iX xDrive50, i4 and i7; the flagship electric sedan is also available in i7 M70 xDrive guise. Bookings for the i5 had opened on April 4.
Jeep Wrangler facelift launched at Rs 67.65 lakh
