Citroen Basalt vs Tata Curvv: Exterior Design Compared

Citroen globally unveiled the Basalt Vision SUV coupe, which will slot in the hotly popular compact SUV segment when launched in the second half of 2024. Its main competitor will be the upcoming Tata Curvv, the other SUV-coupe set to be launched in the coming months. In this read, we compare the design of both the Basalt and the Curvv.

Up front, the Basalt boasts a split grille and a chunky bumper reminiscent of the C3 Aircross SUV, while the muscular hood enhances the SUV's robust appearance. In contrast, the Curvv features connected LED DRLs similar to what we have seen with recent Tata models like the Harrier, along with inserts on the grille, air dams, and headlight housing borrowed from the recent Tata offerings.

Coming on to the profile, the most notable similarity between both models is their sloping roofline, sure to catch your attention regardless of your choice. The Basalt showcases squared-out wheel arches with body cladding, and sportier multi-spoke gunmetal grey alloy wheels. While, the Curvv features piano black cladding elements and large wheel arches that are nicely filled by sporty 18-inch alloys. The Curvv boasts flush door handles, enhancing the premium feel you may seek, while the Basalt gets old school flap-style handles.

The rear of both the Basalt and the Curvv showcases an upright stance with distinct design cues in line. The Basalt features a higher positioned boot lid than the bonnet, complemented by rectangular LED tail lamps and a chunky silver skid plate. Conversely, the Curvv boasts a horizontal sleek taillight bar spanning the width of the boot, along with a silver skid plate with a distinct design.

While the interior of the Citroen Basalt is yet to be revealed, earlier spy shots showcased a dashboard layout similar to other C3 models. The Curvv boasts a minimalist cabin with a dual-screen setup for the infotainment and digital driver’s display, which you can explore in our earlier report.

In the powertrain department, the Curvv will offer you more flexibility with a range of options including a turbo-petrol engine, a diesel engine, and an all-electric option. Tap here to explore
