Two Teenagers In Court After Flaunting Covid Travel Ban
TWO men are to appear in court for flouting government Covid restrictions by travelling to the Isle of Wight.
Caleb Clarkson and Archie Tanner both face a charge of being a person living within the Tier 2 area of Portsmouth, participated in a gathering indoors consisting of two or more people, at the Man in the Moon public house in Newport, on December 5, 2020.
At the time of the offence, Isle of Wight was a Tier 1 area. Anyone living outside of Tier 1 at that time was banned from travel to the Island.
One of the men is also accused of assaulting an emergency worker, while the co-accused faces a charge of obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.
The 18 year olds will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court for both additional offences on the same date.
