TfL’s Proposed Axe Of Bus Route RV1 Still Going Ahead

The proposed withdrawal of the RV1 bus route along the South Bank and Bankside by TfL is still going ahead. The route axe  is part of the shake-up of bus services in central London.

Initially, the RV1 which run from Covent Garden to Tower Gateway was cut from six to three buses an hour in February 2018.

The cut in timetable prompted hundreds of signature petitions and cross-party political support in Southwark.

Despite the mass support for the restoration of the full RV1 timetable, the service could now be withdrawn completely in early 2019.

TfL is reassessing the overall bus network after significant changes in both London’s infrastructure and how Londoners choose to travel.
