Leicestershire Has It’s Share Of Unusual Items Found On Buses

First Leicester Bus Services said that it seems unbelievable the kind of items left on their buses which ends up in their lost property department.  These items are initially handed in to drivers.

Most items left behind are umbrellas, mobile phones and shopping, but  staff are constantly amazed at some of the unusual items that have turned up over the years.

Some of these unusual items are wheelchairs, pushchairs, false teeth, crutches and even a baby bath.

Other unusual items are hats, coats, gloves, umbrellas, toothbrushes, mobile phones and shoes were also among the property abandoned by First Bus passengers in the last year.

Staff make every effort to return lost items to their owners if there is identification attached but, unfortunately, many items go unclaimed.

All lost property is retained at the travel centre for one month before being passed on to local charities. Excluding perishable goods that are only kept for 24 hours before being disposed of.

The firm’s lost property section can be found in the First Bus Travel Shop at 2 Charles Mall, in the city’s Haymarket Shopping Centre, next to the Haymarket Bus Station.
