The driver of a TfL bus No.42 is facing disciplinary action from his bosses after he was involved in an altercation with another motorist making the rounds on social media.
A 13 seconds online video shows the bus driver confronting the motorist after the car allegedly cut across the bus on Tower Bridge Road in central London.
The motorist is said to have spat in the face of the bus driver which prompted the altercation. Passengers on the double decker bus looked on bemused as other motorists sounded their horns.
The bus driver could be seen chasing after the motorist while a cyclist and a passer-by try to intervene.
Witnesses said the confrontation started after the bus driver lost his temper when the other motorist cut across the bus as two lanes merged.
The bus driver who works for Go-Ahead was said to have been incensed after being spat in the face by the motorist.
A study in 2017 by union Unite found that one in eight bus drivers said they had been spat at in the previous year. Go-Ahead is conducting an investigation.
