Two Men Killed In Collision With Ambulance On The A49

A driver and passenger have been killed after his car collided with an ambulance in Herefordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the ambulance was not responding to a 999 call at the time of the collision, which happened near the junction with the A4137.

The accident happened on the A49 outside Pengethley Garden Centre in Peterstow, Ross-on-Wye on Sunday.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene. Two ambulance staff were taken to hospital but their injuries were not said to be serious.

Police have confirmed that the “Next of kin of both men have been informed and thoughts are with the families of those affected.

The police are appealing to the general public that if anyone was in the area early on Sunday and witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage, they would ask them to get in contact  with West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 155s 250819.
