A driver under the influence of drugs has been arrested after a cyclist was killed after colliding with his car at a busy south London junction.
The fatal collision which involved a white VW Golf and a bicycle happened near the Harris Academy secondary school in Peckham.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident and paramedics battled to save the cyclist’s life but were unable to save the man and pronounced him dead.
Police arrested the driver on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was also detained on suspicion of failing a roadside drug test at a south London police station.
